Click HERE for resultsCANTON, NY – Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis) and Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) each picked up three victories, and the RIT women's swimming and diving team (4-1) swept the diving events, picking up its fourth straight victory over St. Lawrence (2-1), 138-98 on Saturday afternoon.Individually, Zbranak continued her strong freshman campaign, winning in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.13) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.42). Senecal picked up big victories in the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.88) just edging out teammate
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) by 38-hundredths of a second, and in the 200-yard IM, winning in 2:19.28.
Zbranak teamed up with Senecl for the 200-yard medley relay win, along with
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Katrina Meyer, winning the race in nearly seven seconds over the Saints 'A' squad, finishing in 1:55.43.
In another close race, Adams picked up her second victory on the afternoon by a narrow margin in the 200-yard breaststroke. Adams (2:41.11) just beat out teammate
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) (2:41.75).
RIT swept the 1-meter and 3-meter dive events, as
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville),
Amanda Drake (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell), and
Alexis Schoenefeld (Lawrenceburg, IN/East Central) finished 1-2-3 respecively in both dives. In the 1-meter dive, Snyder (256.60) beat out Drake (161.50) and Schoenefeld (98.80), and did so by a smaller margin in the 3-meter dive (231.90-172.35-128.45).
RIT has now won four straight dual meets after falling to RPI in the season opener, beating Oswego State, Alfred University, and Fredonia State before its victory over St. Lawrence on Saturday.
The Tigers will look for their fifth straight victory, returning home for a dual match with Division II LeMoyne College at Judson Pool at 1 p.m.
