MEET RESULTS ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's swimming and diving team (3-1) dominated in the pool, winning its first eight events en route to a 187-101 wire-to-wire victory over Fredonia (0-4) at the Judson Pool Saturday afternoon.
Genevieve Senecal (Westfield, MA/Westfield) led RIT with three wins, picking up victories in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.30) with teammates
Sedera Zbranak (Austin, TX/Lake Travis),
Amy Adams (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), and
Sarah Evans (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna); the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.17), which was over 24 seconds ahead of the field; and the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.08), finishing 1-2-3 with fellow Tigers
Olivia Phillips (Louisville, CO/Fairview) (1:03.08) and Allie Moulton (1:06.58).
Zbranak and Adams also had strong afternoons. Zbranak won the 200-yard freestyle, just edging the competition by 19 one hundredths of a second, picking up the victory in 1:59.11. She nearly won the 100-yard freestyle, getting beat out by Fredonia's Sam Rokos, by just under a second, finishing in 55.96. Adams picked up an individual win in the 100-yard breaststroke, just narrowly beating Katie Meyer by .36 seconds, finishing in 1:12.16.
On the freestyle events,
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) and Addy Maykish finished 1-2 in the 500-yard event, as Kobel edged out Maykish by just over a second, with a time of 5:44.35. Mayer, Evans, and
Daylen Smith (Lockwood, NY/Waverly) finished 1-2-3 respectively in the 50-yard freestyle, as Meyer's time of 25.79 was just over a second and a half of Smith's third-place time of 26.56, with Evans just edging in second at 26.26. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Maykish picked up the win, with a time of 11:44.25, beating out
Grace Morales (South Riding, VA/Freedom)' time of 12:00.65.
Phillips also picked up a victory, cruising in the 200-yard backstroke, winning in a time of 2:16.52, beating out
Allison Crim (Manchester, MD/Manchester Valley) in second (2:23.26)
On the diving board,
Natalie Snyder (Rockville, MD/Rockville) had a solid day. She picked up a victory in the 1-meter dive, finishing with 249.80 points. On the 3-meter dive, she picked up second to Fredonia's Meghan Bartlett with 243.15 points.
The Tigers will next take to the road, traveling to the North Country to take on Liberty League rival St. Lawrence (2-0), on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
