Click here for match resultsSCHENECTADY, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (2-9, 0-3 Liberty League) put up a valiant effort, but dropped a Liberty League road match at Union College (2-5, 2-3 Liberty League) by a score of 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Union Tennis Courts.
Union opened the match by winning two of three doubles matches. At first doubles, the team of
Chandler Daub (Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe) and
Kevin Layer (Clarence, NY/Clarence) defeated T.J. Moor and Grant Zaccareo by a score of 8-3.
Ben Lynaugh (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and
Andrew Reiley (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor) would earn singles victories for the Tigers. At fourth singles, Lynaugh defeated Spencer Fontein by a score of 6-2, 6-2, while Reiley upended Michael Donadio, 6-1, 6-2.
The Tigers return to action on Thursday with a home contest against Liberty League foe Hobart that gets underway at 4 p.m.
