ROCHESTER, NY– RIT women's swimming and diving (3-2) team dominated LeMoyne College (3-4) on Saturday at Judson Pool, with a 199-99 win. The Tigers were in control from start to finish earning first place finishes in 12 of the 16 events on the day.
RIT got things going right away with #
Brenna Woodling (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East)#, #
Megan O'Connor (Spring City, PA/Owen J. Roberts)#, Genna Senecal and #
Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes)# grabbing a win in the 400-yard Medley Relay in a time of 4:15.83. One event later, #
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse)# would keep things going with a first place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle coming in at 11:34.18.
Woodling would go on to earn wins in the 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle. Senecal would finish with an impressive four first place finishes on the day adding wins in the 200-yard butterfly, the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard IM.
The day ended how it started for the Tigers with a first place in a relay, this time with #
Alex Timberlake (Churchville, NY/Churchville-Chili)#, #
Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's)#, #
Kelsey Schaefer (Berea, OH/Berea) and
Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes)# in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:50.66.
The Tigers had similar success in the diving events as #
Sam Huselstein (Olean, NY/Olean)# winning the one-meter event with a score of 229.40. Huselstein finished second in the three-meter diving event, as LeMoyne's Melissa Boyd took first place with a 313.70 score.
It was a complete team effort, as the Tigers cruised to their largest win of the season.
Next weekend, RIT will stay at home to take on the Fredonia Blue Devils on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. On Dec. 6-7 the team will head to Schenectady, NY to race in the Liberty League Championships.
