ROCHESTER, NY–
The RIT men's swimming and diving team (3-2) lost a back and forth meet with the LeMoyne Dolphins, 153-145 on Saturday at Judson Pool, ending their win streak at three.

After a slow start to the day for RIT Scott Farrell (Buffalo, NY/North Tonawanda) would get the first big win of the day in the 200-yard freestyle, with a time of 1:59.99. Justin Morris (Marlborough, MA/Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School) came in second in the race earning the Tigers 13 points for that event. One event later, Steven Paine (York, PA/Dallastown Area) grabbed a first place in the 100-yard backstroke coming in with a time of 55.99 seconds.

Paine came up big again for the Tigers in the 200-yard backstroke earning another first place finish with a time of 1:59.51. RIT finished the day on a positive note with a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, which was made up of Paine, Farrell and Morris, along with Ryan Facchine (Fairview, PA/Fairview). Together that team swam a time of 3:18.72.

On the diving side of things RIT was solid as John Tellgren (Anoka, MN/Anoka) earned first place in both the three-meter and one-meter diving events. In the three-meter, Tellgren scored a 304.40 in his first place performance, following it up with a 287.05 score in the one-meter. Matt DePalo (Franklin, MA/Xaverian Brothers) was equally as consistent, earning third place in both diving events with scores of 234.40 in the three-meter and 216.60 in the one-meter.

It was a solid showing for the Tigers however a sweep of the 100-yard butterfly by LeMoyne late in the meet proved costly, as RIT fell just eight points shy of the Dolphins, 153-145.

Next weekend RIT will host its second straight dual meet this time with Fredonia on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. That will be the last meet before the Liberty League Championship, which will be hosted by Union in Schenectedy, N.Y. on Dec. 6-7.
