ALFRED, NY -- The RIT women's swimming and diving team went on the road Friday evening and beat Alfred University 124-119, using a late surge in the final event to earn the victory. The win improves the Tigers to 2-1 on the season.
Down 117-109 heading into the final event, the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of #

Colleen Manning (Farmingdale, NY/St. Anthony's) and Kelsey Schafer# won the event in a time of 1:44.88. #
Caitlin Foster (Bath, ME/Morse)#, Brittney Merriman, #
Shavon McGlynn (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford)#, and #
Rachel Kobel (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen)# placed second to secure the victory.
The Tigers opened the meet with a second and third place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team #

Jill Sirkis (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) and Lamb came home third in a time of 2:01.06.
In the 50-yard freestyle, Baldwin won the event in a time of 25.24 seconds. Timberlake was third in a time of 26.52, while Lamb was fourth in a time of 26.70. Baldwin also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.32, while Timberlake was second in a time of 57.12.

Sam Huselstein (Olean, NY/Olean) won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 245.80. (Endicott, NY/Maine Endwell)Lori Liebman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Lakeland)# was fourth with a score of 163.70. Huselstein was second in the 1-meter event with a score of 207.95.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Nov.9 versus St. Lawrence University. The first event gets under way at 1 p.m. in Canton, NY.
