ROCHESTER, NY -- Two Tigers earned Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All Region honors, with junior #
Shelby Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport) garnering first team accolades and senior (Landisville, PA/Hempfield)Rebecca Lampson (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy)# taking second team honors. The student-athletes selected for IWLCA All-Region teams will be eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA All-American teams, which will be announced on May 24.
Vakiener earns her third All-American honors of her career, after being a second team IWLCA selection and a third team Synapes Sports selection a season ago.
Vakiener, the Liberty League Player of the Year, finished the season with team records for goals (78), assists (37) and points (115). She scored at least three goals and recorded at least four points in all 17 games for the Tigers this year, and is now RIT's all-time leader in points, goals, assists and draw controls.
Lampson, a second-team All-Liberty League selection, notched 62 goals and added 24 assists for 86 points, the second most in a single season in program history. She finishes her incredible career with the Tigers with 196 points on 132 goals and 64 assists.
