ORLANDO, FL -- The RIT men's tennis team (3-3) took down Albion 5-4 on Tuesday in sunny Orlando, Florida. The Tigers got out to a slow start, dropping all three doubles matches, but came back to win five-of-six singles to win the match.
Amos Baptiste (Brooklyn, NY/Midwood) needed a come-from-behind effort to take down David Richter at second singles. Richter took the first set, 6-7, but Baptiste came back, winning the second 6-1 and the third 7-6.
Clayton Tontarski (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) defeated Tucker Blake at first singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) was victorious at fourth singles, defeating Billy Sessions 6-3, 6-4, while
Larry Hall (Fairport, NY/Fairport) defeated Steve Manciu at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Mark Gonzalez (Jersey City, NJ/High Tech) was RIT's other winner, defeating Brandon Kosinski in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
The Tigers are back in action on Wednesday, when they take on Marian University at 2:30 p.m. in Orlando.
