WEBSTER, NY -
The RIT baseball team (6-8) extended its winning streak to three games after sweeping a pair of contests against Cazenovia at Field of Dreams Park on Tuesday afternoon.  The Tigers rallied from a 4-0 deficit to win game one, 6-4, then cruised to an 11-2 win in game two.

In game one, RIT scored six times in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a 4-0 deficit.  After Kreag Bradley (Victor, NY/Victor) was hit by a pitch and stole second, Justin Smith (Livonia, NY/Livonia) singled in Bradley to make it 4-1.  Ronnie Canestro (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) singled, and following a ground out that moved the runners up, Dave Kernan (North Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) singled in a pair to make it 4-3.  Brian Brazee (Auburn, NY/Auburn) followed with a double, putting runners at second and third for Ed Hughes (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt), who hit a sacrifice fly to knot the game at 4-4.  Walt Roman (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), continued the onslaught, hitting an inside the park home run to make it 6-4 Tigers.

Senior hurler Mike Marsillo (Scottsdale, AZ/Desert Mountain) was able to shut down the Cazenovia offense the rest of the way, retiring six of the final seven batters he faced to earn the complete game win, allowing five hits in seven innings.

Smith was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, run scored, and run batted in, while Roman, and Kernan each had two hits and two RBIs.

In game two, RIT left little doubt, scoring three times in the first, five in the third, and three in the fourth.

Hughes tripled, scored twice, and drove in three to lead RIT.  Kernan was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, and drove in a run.  Nick Ventura (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) drove in a pair of runs.

Senior Frank DiPinto (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) was strong on the mound for RIT, allowing just four hits, one run, and a walk, while striking out seven in five innings.

The Tigers are scheduled to open Empire 8 play with a pair of home doubleheaders against Ithaca on Saturday and Sunday, both getting underway at 1 p.m.
