ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's tennis team (0-1, 0-0 Empire 8) opened it's 2011 season with a 3-6 loss to the University of Rochester on Tuesday afternoon. 

Junior Tennyson Saucedo (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) gave the Tigers their only singles point by defeating Boris Borovcanin 7-5, 6-3.

RIT won two-of-three doubles matches. The duo of Saucedo and Will Abisalih (Merrimac, MA/Phillips Exeter Academy) won at first doubles against Borovcanin and Brian Rice by a score of 8-2. At second doubles, Max Bogue (Colchester, VT/Colchester) and Larry Hall (Fairport, NY/Fairport) were victorious defeating Jeff Zink and Matt Volkov 8-2.

The Tigers return to action on Thursday, March 31 with a road contest at Hobart, starting at 4 p.m.
