Men's swimming and diving dominates LeMoyne to improve to 8-1

-- The RIT men's swimming and diving team defeated Le Moyne and improved to 8-1 in 2010-11 with a 156-137 win on Saturday afternoon.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Nate Marshall (Waverly, NY/Waverly), Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), Zac Parker (Rochester, NY/Brighton), and Ryan Marchant (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) finished in 1:42.87 for second place.

Kevin Hom (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) grabbed first place in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:24.56, followed by Steve Brown (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville Dewitt) in second place with a time of 10:53.72. Hom also finished the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.70 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:59.13 for first place in both.

Minicucci placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.57. Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:02.98.

Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) earned a score of 188.85 for first place in the 1-meter diving competition and also in the 3-meter event with a score of 285.75.

The Tigers return to action next Saturday at 1 p.m. at the University of Rochester.
