Men's swimming and diving moves to 4-0 with win over St. Lawrence

ROCHESTER, NY -
The RIT men's swimming and diving squad improved to 4-0 in 2010-11, cruising to a 163-69 win over St. Lawrence at the Judson Pool on Saturday afternoon.  RIT won nine different individual events and one relay.

The 400-yard medley relay team of Kyle Wilson (Buffalo, NY/Canisius), Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield), Mitchell Cook (Tolland, CT/Tolland), and Ryan Marchant (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) opened the meet with a win in a time of 3:50.76.

Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School), Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield), Kevin Hom (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert), and Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) each won a pair of events on the afternoon to pace the Tigers.

Zelinger was victorious in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.20) and 200-fly (2:04.55).  Christiansen annexed the 50-yard freestyle (21.81) and 100-free (49.43).  Hom took the 200-free (1:47.18) and 500-free (4:57.44).  He won the 500-free by 10 seconds. 

Wendt won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for the Tigers.  He led the top three RIT finishers in the 1-meter (257.15) and recorded a score of 245.05 in the 3-meter.

Joe Meiman (Milford, NH/Milford) won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:24.23 for the Tigers.

RIT is back in action on December 3-5, when they host the Don Richards Memorial Tournament.
