ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's swimming and diving squad (7-3) defeated LeMoyne, by a score of 204.5-88.5 on Saturday afternoon at Judson Pool. Seven different Tigers earned first-place finishes in individual events during the meet.
Jeff Kaemmerlen (Fairport, NY/Fairport),
Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst High School),
Frank Zelinger (Schwenksville, PA/The Hill School), and
Evan Wendt (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) each won two events.
Kammerlen was victorious in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley. He won the 50-freestlye with a time of 21.93 and took the 200-medley with a time of 2:01.63.
Rois finished first in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle with times of 1:48.27 and 5:02.42, respectively. Zellinger was victorious in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly. He won the 100- in a time of 56.77 and the 200- in 2:04.94.
Wendt placed first in the 1- and 3-meter diving events. He won the 1-meter with a score of 307.00, and took the 3-meter with a score of 281.4.
Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield),
Nate Morefield (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley High School), and
Bryan Minicucci (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) all earned first-place finishes. Christiansen took first in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 48.09. Morefield was victorious in the 1,000-yard freestyle, in a time of 10:34.65. Minicucci took first in the 100-yard breastroke, in a time of 1:01.19.
Christensen and Minicucci also teamed up with Kaemmerlen and
Ryan Marchant (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School) to finish first in the 200-yard medley relay. The team finished with a time of 1:39.26.
The Tigers are back in action on Saturday Feb. 6, where they host Nazareth. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m.
