ONEONTA, NY - For the second straight day, the RIT volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Holiday Inn Invitational, hosted by Hartwick College. RIT opened the afternoon by falling to Union College in three games, 25-10, 25-17, 25-20. The Tigers ended the day by defeating host Hartwick in three games, 25-18, 26-24, 25-14. Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
In the win over Hartwick, Petko slammed 13 kills to go along with three service aces.
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) dished out 29 assists.
Yesterday, the Tigers opened the season with a four-game win over SUNY Oswego, and a three-game loss to St. Lawrence.
RIT will return to action on Friday, Sept. 11 at the Ithaca Tournament. The Tigers will play SUNY Brockport at 6 p.m. and SUNY Oneonta at 8 p.m.
