Baseball drops pair of games at SUNY Brockport

BROCKPORT, NY –
The RIT baseball team (9-17) dropped a pair of games at SUNY Brockport (13-15) on Wednesday afternoon.  RIT squandered a 4-0 fifth inning lead and lost 6-4 in game one.  Brockport cruised in game two, 8-2.

RIT led 4-1 in the sixth inning of game one before Brockport came storming back, scoring twice in the sixth inning and three times in the seventh.  Jason Michaels hit a three-run walk-off home run off of #Cory Langtry (Moravia, NY/Moravia)# (Moravia, NY/Moravia) to win the game.

Junior hurler #Geoff Dornes (Landsville, PA/Hempfield)# (Landisville, PA/Hempfield) was excellent on the mound for RIT, allowing just three hits and an unearned run in five innings.  He walked none and struck out three.  Dornes was also 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in.

Ben Robertson (Mecklenburg, NY/Trumansburg) (Mecklenburg, NY/Trumansburg) was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.  #Matt Austin (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport)# (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) was 2-for-3 with a stolen base for RIT.

In game two, senior #Jeremy Tosh (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg)# (Woodbine, MD/Glenelg) hit his fourth home run of the season.  He now has 90 career RBI, just four behind leader and Hall of Famer Jeff Hall '80.

Ed Hughes (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt) (Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-Dewitt)
was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Brockport hit five home runs in the doubleheader sweep.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday, as they travel to Oneonta to play the Red Dragons in a single game starting at 4 p.m.
