CANTON, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team defeated St. Lawrence University, 148-92 in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Tigers to 3-1 in dual meets this season.
The Tigers began the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Kevin Christiansen (Penfield, NY/Penfield), Bryan Miniucci,
Ryan Marchan (Norwich, NY/Norwich High School)t and Ryan Brennan combined to win the event in a time of 1:43.21.
Brannon and Marchant finished one-two in the 50-yard freestyle in times of 23.25 and 23.42 respectively.
Christiansen, Marchant and
Tony Ness (College Park, MD/Gonzaga) swept the top three spots in the 100-yard freestyle. Christiansen won the event in a time of 51.36. Marchant was second in a time of 52.29 and Ness was third in a time of 52.59.
AJ Broderick (Fonda, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:06.15 and won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:04.94.
Brannon won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.21 and
Steve Rois (Amherst, NY/Amherst High School) won the 500-ayrd freestyle in a time of 5:04.77.
Phillip Tatti (Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) won bot the one-meter an three-meter diving events. He won the one-meter with a score of 168.50 and the three-meter in a time of 168.45.
The Tigers will host the UNiversity of Rochester on Thursday, November 12 at 6 pm.
