ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT baseball team swept a pair of games versus Utica College in Empire 8 action on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers have now won four straight and are 10-11 overall and 4-4 in the Empire 8.

In game one RIT had to come from behind, winning 10-9 in extra innings. Matt Austin (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) (Weedsport, NY) had the game-winning RBI on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the twelfth inning, plating Anthony Culotta (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili). Jeff Bibbens (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) (Weedsport, NY) scored the game-winning run on a throwing error by Utica's Justin Engelhardt.

Rory Camardello (Brighton, NY/Brighton) (Brighton, NY) came in and pitched the final two innings, getting his first collegiate victory. He allowed one run on fur hits and struck out two.

Geoff Dornes (Landisville, PA/Hempfiled) (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield), Ryan Tryt (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley), Jeff Bibbens (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) and Culotta each had a pair of hits. Culotta drove in four runsin game one.

In game two  RIT scored four runs in the third inning and went on to a 7-5 win. Dornes went 4-for-4 in game two, driving in five runs and scoring a run. Matt George (Walton, NY/Walton) (Walton, NY), Josh Rodems (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) (Orchard Park, NY) and Justin Smith (Livonia, NY/LIvonia) (Livonia, NY) each had a pair of hits for the Tigers.

Bibbens got the start for RIT in game two, picking up the win. He went six innings allowing four runs on 11 hits. He struck out five and walked four.

RIT will face Utica for another double-header tomorrow afternoon beginning at 12 pm on RIT Field.
