ROCHESTER, NY – Tournament MVP Jessica VanAllen scored in the 63rd minute to propel SUNY Brockport to a 1-0 win over RIT in the 2008 ECAC Upstate Championship at RIT Turf Field on Sunday afternoon.
Rachel Murphy took a free kick from the left corner and found Van Allen in front of the Tiger net. Van Allen redirected the pass off her torso in mid-air past RIT goalkeeper
Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield). The goal was Van Allen's ninth of the season and third in the last two games.
SUNY Brockport out-shot RIT 18-8, including 12-2 in the second half. It was a physical game, as 27 fouls were called.
Conti made six saves in defeat in her final game for the Tigers. Liz Durfee stopped two shots to earn her 12th win of the season for SUNY Brockport.
Neither team seized an advantage over the first 45 minutes of play. Both teams fired six shots. Brockport had two shots on goal, while RIT had one.

SUNY Brockport ends the 2008 season with a 12-5-3 record, while RIT finishes 9-8-3.
