Women's Soccer falls at home to Ohio Northern, 2-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior forward Emma Pedro scored in the 90th minute, but the RIT women's soccer team fell, 2-1, to Ohio Northern Saturday at Judson Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT controlled much of the first half, out shooting Ohio Northern 9-1 and earning seven corner kicks, but the Polar Bears' goalkeeper Blake Sakach made four saves to keep the game scoreless entering halftime.
  • The visitors broke through in the 62nd minute when Anna Carlson headed a pass from the right wing inside the six-yard box into the left side of the net.
  • The Polar Bears doubled their lead in the 77th minute as Ayva Moore collected a pass and struck a second-touch volley from the right side approximately 20 yards from goal.
  • RIT cut the deficit to one in the 90th minute when Pedro bent a free kick from the left side about 20 yards out into the net for her first goal of the season.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT outshot Ohio Northern, 15-8, and held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Sophomore midfielder Sarah Tawaf led RIT with three shots, while Pedro, junior forward Amerie Mills and Tawaf each recorded one shot on goal.
  • Senior goalkeeper Ashton Anderson made three saves in 86:31.
  • Ohio Northern goalkeeper Blake Sakach recorded four saves.
  • With the loss, the Tigers slip to 1-2-1 through four games.
