ROCHESTER, NY -
Senior forward Emily Traversi (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) (Acton, MA/Acton-Boxborough) recorded her first collegiate hat-trick, as the RIT women's soccer team (8-5-2, 4-1-1 Empire 8) scored six second-half goals to upend Alfred University (4-9-2, 0-6-0 Empire 8), 6-1 in an Empire 8 contest on Wednesday evening.

Traversi tallied in the 57th minute to tie the game at 1, and then in the 66th minute to give RIT a 2-1 lead.  The fourth-year forward capped off her hat-trick on a goal in the 76th minute off an assist from #Kylee Harvey (Canaseraga, NY/Canaseraga)# (Canaseraga, NY/Canaseraga).  Traversi now leads RIT with eight goals and 18 points this season and moved into a tie for fourth-place all-time at RIT with 52 points on 19 goals and 14 assists.

It was the first hat-trick scored by a Tiger since #Melanie Lowe# '04 in a win over Hilbert on Sept. 7, 2003.

#Monica Cook (Webster, NY/Webster Schroder)# (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder)#Kendra Shelters (Lyons, NY/Lyons)# (Lyons, NY/Lyons) and #Danielle Painter (Mililani, HI/Mililani)# (Miliani, HI/Miliani) also scored for RIT, who have now won three straight.

Danielle LaFrance (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-N.Syracuse) (North Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse), #Krystal Adriaansen (Marion, NY/Marion)# (Marion, NY/Marion) and #Ashley Pezze (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland)# (Schnectady, NY/Guilderland), along with Harvey had assists in the win.  Harvey's assist was her first collegiate point.

RIT out-shot Alfred 33-3.  RIT had 17 first-half shots without scoring a goal.  The Tigers fell behind 1-0 just 22 seconds into the second half on a goal by Danna Reynolds.

Ashley Conti (Canfield, OH/Canfield) (Canfield, OH/Canfield) picked up her fourth win of the season for RIT.

The six goals in a game are the most for RIT this season and most since they potted six tallies in a 6-1 win over Alfred last season.

RIT has two Empire 8 contests left, against Nazareth and Elmira.  One more win would clinch a spot in the conference tournament for the Tigers.
