Women's Volleyball falls 3-1 at Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The RIT Women's Volleyball team lost a 3-1 (28-26, 24-26, 25-18, 25-19) decision at Brockport, Friday.

Trailing, 10-7, to open the set, RIT scored six-straight points, including a pair of kills by sophomore Anna Wasula. The Golden Eagles bounced back with three-straight points, but the Tigers built a 19–14 advantage with a 6-1 run. Brockport rallied to tie the frame at 21–21 with a 7-2 run, but the Tigers earned set point at 24–22 after a kill by senior Mia Gerber. Brockport fought off both chances and later broke a 26-26 tie with back-to-back points.
 
The Tigers opened a 7–2 lead before Brockport closed within one with a 5-1 surge. RIT scored the next four points for a 12-7 lead and later built its largest lead, 17-11. The Golden Eagles pulled back within one, 22-21, following a 10-5 run, but the Tigers won the next two points to force set point. Brockport retied the set with three-straight points, 24-24, but the Tigers secured the 26–24 win with a Gerber kill and a Brockport attack error.
 
Brockport used a 10-4 run to turn an early one-point lead, 9-8, into a decisive 19-12 lead in the third. RIT climbed back within three, 20-17, with a 5-1 surge, but Brockport won five of the final six points to take the set.
 
RIT started the fourth with a 9-6 edge, but Brockport used a 15-2 run to build a 21-11 lead. RIT scored eight of the next nine points to pull within three, 22-19, but Brockport closed the match with three-straight points to seal the victory.
