SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The RIT men's rowing team competed at the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., posting several strong performances across multiple events.
Men's Varsity 8+
The Varsity 8+ advanced to the final after finishing third in its heat but was unable to complete the race due to an equipment malfunction at the start of the final.

Men's Second Varsity 8+
RIT showed improvement from last weekend's races against Hamilton and Skidmore, placing fifth in a tightly contested final. The Tigers crossed the line in 7:12.88, finishing less than a second behind Union (7:11.92).

Men's Frosh/Novice 4+
RIT's Frosh/Novice 4+ completed its first collegiate spring race, finishing fifth out of seven crews with a time of 8:32.14.

Men's Double (2x)
RIT had two entries compete in the men's double.
Taonga Pumulo and
Jack Weitekamp finished fourth in Final 1, while
Sanskar Usha-Murali Gurappa and
Cooper Fleishman placed second in Final 2.
Men's Pair (2-)
RIT earned state champion honors in the men's pair, placing first and third overall.
Riley McMichael and
Sam Ferreira won the event (8:17.70), while
Nicholas Staley and
Nick Ricotta finished third.

The Tigers will race against Rochester and St. Lawrence on the Genesee River this Sunday (Apr. 26), starting at 8 a.m.
