ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The RIT men's track & field team took part in Rochester's Alumni Invitational on Sunday, placing third out of seven teams.
The Tigers scored 91 points as the hosts tallied 238.5 points, with Brockport placing third with 191.5 points.
RIT swept the top three spots in the 10,000m with senior
Derick Koen leading the way with a top time of 32:00.51. Junior
Sebastian Montalvo took second place (32.01.51) as first-year
Calvin Barrett placed third (32:39.21). All three times were AARTFC qualifying times.
First-year thrower
Garrett Long won the discus with a distance of 44.51m on his first attempt.
In the Hammer throw, senior
Erik Stephany threw 55.72m to win the event.
