Women's Basketball defeats Bard, 58-43

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team earned its 11th straight win by defeating Bard, 58–43, Friday evening
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT used a 10–2 run late in the first quarter, highlighted by layups from junior guards Ella Wilson and Maddy Ramsgard, to turn a 5–5 tie into a 16–11 lead after one.
  • The Tigers outscored the visitors in the second quarter, 19–4 , fueled by a three-pointer from sophomore guard Caroline Henderson, and back‑to‑back baskets by first-year guard Mia Firdman to extend the advantage to 35–15 at halftime.
  • Graduate student forward Sydney Pearson scored six straight points early in the second half, including a fastbreak layup, pushing the Tigers ahead 41–20.
  • Henderson's jumper and Pearson's layup kept momentum with RIT as the Tigers maintained a comfortable lead throughout the third.
  • Wilson's fourth-quarter three-pointer capped a brief run that stretched the advantage to 53–39 and helped secure the win.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Pearson led RIT with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting as Henderson added 10 points, including two three‑pointers.
  • Ramsgard recorded four assists and six rebounds.
  • A total of 12 players scored for the Tigers.
  • RIT shot 41.4 percent (24-for-58) from the field and forced 21 Bard turnovers.
  • The Tigers scored 36 points in the paint and held a 35–10 advantage in bench scoring.
  • RIT finished with 36 rebounds, including 13 offensive boards.
  • The Tigers moved to 18–6 overall and 15–2 in the conference with the victory.
