ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Junior forward Faye Kaplinski recorded a double-double to help the RIT women's basketball team defeat Skidmore, 58–49, in the regular season finale, Saturday afternoon.  The win is the Tigers' 12 straight victory, which ties the program record that was set in the 2018-19 season.

The Tigers enter the Liberty League Tournament as the #2-seed, earning a first-round bye. The team will host a semifinal game inside Clark Gymnasium this coming Friday (Feb. 27).

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Maddy Ramsgard, a junior guard, drilled a three with 56 seconds left in the first quarter to give RIT a 19–12 lead after one.
  • After Skidmore pulled within 25–24 late in the second, Kaplinski completed a three‑point play at 1:15 to push the Tigers ahead 28–24 at halftime.
  • The Tigers used a 12–4 run in the third quarter—featuring threes from sophomore guard Caroline Henderson and a series of inside buckets by Kaplinski—to build a 47–37 advantage heading to the fourth.
  • Ramsgard hit a jumper with 16 seconds left in the game to seal the 58–49 victory.
