Women's Basketball suffers home loss to Rochester, 64-53

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team at home fell to Rochester, 64-53, in non-conference action Tuesday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT opened the game shooting 71.4% in the first quarter, including six three-pointers, to lead 28-24 after 10 minutes.
  • Sophomore forward Ben Kayser-Cochran hit four three-pointers in the first half, helping RIT maintain a slim lead through much of the second quarter.
  • The Yellowjackets used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to erase RIT's advantage and take a 41-38 lead.
  • The visitors outscored the Tigers 23-11 in the fourth quarter, fueled by three triples from Macy Bacon and Hazell Nickerson.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Kayser-Cochran led RIT with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, and added eight rebounds.
  • Faye Kaplinski contributed nine points and a team-high nine rebounds.
  • Sophomore guard Caroline Henderson tallied six rebounds, four steals, and four points for the Tigers.
  • RIT committed 19 turnovers in the loss, leading to 12 Rochester points.
  • The setback puts RIT's record at 5-5.
