Women's Basketball earns road win at St. Lawrence, 62-35

CANTON, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team defeated St. Lawrence, 62–35, Friday evening.
 
The Tigers controlled the game wire‑to‑wire, outscoring the Saints in every quarter and holding the hosts to just three points in the final period.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • RIT opened the game with a 9–0 run, highlighted by early baskets from senior guard Erin DiPaola and sophomore forward Ben Kayser‑Cochran, who also added a three-pointer at 5:39 of the first quarter.
  • The Tigers' defense forced 12 St. Lawrence turnovers in the first half, including steals by sophomore guard Caroline Henderson and graduate student guard Hannah Durand that led directly to points in transition.
  • Maddy Ramsgard, a junior guard, sparked the second-quarter surge, scoring eight of her 14 points in the frame as RIT built a 28–17 halftime lead.
  • The third quarter saw the Tigers shoot 8-for-13 from the floor, including a Henderson three that pushed the lead to 43–26.
  • RIT allowed only one field goal in the fourth quarter while extending the margin to the 27-point final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Ramsgard finished with 14 points and eight rebounds as Kayser‑Cochran totaled nine points and eight rebounds.
  • Henderson scored a game-high 15 points while adding four steals.
  • RIT shot 43.1 percent (25-for-58) from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
  • The visitors won the rebounding battle, 43–29, and tallied 26 points in the paint.
  • The Tigers improve to 10–6 overall and 7–2 in Liberty League play.
