GENEVA, N.Y. – The RIT men's basketball team fell to Hobart, 81-74, Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers led 42-38 at halftime but were outscored 43-32 in the second half as Hobart pulled away late.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT jumped out to an early lead behind graduate student Josiah Turner's hot shooting, including three first-half three-pointers. The forward finished the half with 16 points.
- The Tigers led by as many as seven points in the first half before Hobart closed the gap heading into halftime.
- The Statesmen used an 11-2 run midway through the second half to take control, fueled by Alex Moesch's scoring and free throws. The guard finished the game with a team-high 25 points.
- RIT managed to cut the deficit to six on Turner's three-pointer with 27 seconds left, but Hobart sealed the win at the foul line.
GAME NOTES
- Turner scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range.
- Sophomore guard Muhsin Muhammad added 15 points and nine rebounds, while junior guard Zac Ditzel chipped in 10 points.
- RIT shot 40.9 percent (27-of-66) from the floor and 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from three-point range.
- RIT's record moves to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in Liberty League play.

The Tigers continue their road swing this Tuesday (Jan. 13) when they travel to Schenectady to face Union. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
