Softball falls twice at Ithaca, 12-0 (5 inn.), 5-1

ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT Softball team closed the 2025 season with 12-0 (5 inn.) and 5-1 setbacks at Liberty League rival Ithaca, Saturday.

GAME 1 – ITHACA 12, RIT 0 (5 INN.)
Ithaca scored two runs in the first inning and eight more in the second for a commanding 10-0 lead before tacking on two more runs in the third.
First-year Sylvia White broke up the Bombers' no-hit with a single to right in the top of the fifth.

GAME 2 – ITHACA 5, RIT 1
Ithaca plated a pair of runs in the first inning, but RIT responded with a run in the bottom of the second after first-year Kate Carlone knocked a lead-off double down the left field line and later came home on an Ithaca fielding error on a ball hit by sophomore Katherine Baretela.
Ithaca plated a run in the third and later added a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to close the two-game sweep.
Junior Jessica Majot took the loss, yielding four earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six.
