Women's Basketball loses to Ithaca 68-53

ITHACA, N.Y. – The RIT women's basketball team lost on the road at Ithaca, 68-53, Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Ithaca started the game with an 8-2 run before ending the first quarter with a 17-8 lead, holding the Tigers to 3-of-8 from the field over the first ten minutes.
  • Emma Waite helped extend Ithaca's lead in the second quarter, scoring 12 of the Bombers' 24 points to make the score 41-20 at halftime.
  • RIT improved their shooting in the second half, finishing the third quarter with a 53.8 field goal percentage (7-of-13), but were unable to make headway in to the significant Ithaca lead.
  • The Bombers started the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to build their lead to 23 points with less than eight minutes to play.
 
GAME NOTES
  • First-year guard Caroline Henderson scored a team-high 21 points after shooting an 61.53 percent (8-of-13) from the field, including 3-of-6 from three-point range.
  • Senior guard Hannah Durand and first-year forward Ben Keyser-Cochran each added nine points as sophomore guard Maddy Ramsgard led the team with three assists.
  • Ithaca's Emma Waite tallied a game-high 22 points.
  • The Tigers fall to 12-9 overall and 10-4 in the Liberty League.

RIT returns home this Friday (Feb. 14) for a 5:30 p.m. against Vassar.
