ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first-year forward
Zach Wigle was tabbed the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Rookie of the Week, Tuesday.
Wigle scored a goal in each end of the Tigers' two-game sweep of visiting Mercyhurst last weekend. He opened the scoring and won 9-of-13 faceoffs in Friday's 4-1 victory before scoring what proved to be the game-winning goal and winning a career-high 12 faceoffs in Saturday's 3-2 victory as RIT extended a seven-game winning streak.
Wigle is the second Tiger to win the award this season, joining forward
Caleb Elfering who landed the honor on Oct. 28.
RIT travels to Robert Morris this weekend for two AHA contests scheduled for 7:05 p.m. faceoffs on Friday and Saturday (Nov. 14-15).
