ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first-year goaltender
Jakub Krbecek was named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Men's Hockey Rookie of the Week, announced Monday.
- Krbecek landed his second honor in as many weeks after stopping 31 shots to preserve Saturday's 4-2 victory at Mercyhurst.
- He won his second-straight game without allowing an even-strength goal, only allowing a first-period power-play tally and another with the Lakers skating 6-on-4 in the closing minutes of action.
- Krbecek was also honored last week after a 32-save effort during a 3-2 victory at Clarkson (Oct. 6) in his first collegiate start.
- Logging his second-straight 30-plus save effort, he owns a .940 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA through two games this season.
RIT hosts Bowling Green this Saturday (Oct. 19) at 7:05 p.m. in the annual Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend game, to be played at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester.
