ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT sophomore
Tommy Scarfone was named the Atlantic Hockey Goaltender of the Week, Monday.
- Landing his league-leading fourth weekly honor of the season, Scarfone stopped 68 of 70 shots (.971 save %) during a two-game split with Bentley last week.
- He stopped all 33 shots he faced for his third shutout of the season during Friday's 4-0 victory, before stopping 35 shots in Saturday's 2-1 setback for his 11th 30-plus save effort this winter.
- Scarfone leads Atlantic Hockey with 28.11 saves per game and ranks second with a .919 save percentage and a .245 goals against average.
RIT (20-11-1, 16-7-1 AHA) has already clinched the Atlantic Hockey regular-season championship as well as the top seed for next Month's Atlantic Hockey Tournament. The Tigers host Air Force this Friday and Saturday (Feb. 24-25) on the final weekend of the regular season.
