Men's Basketball loses 64-62 at Bard

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – RIT junior guard Chase Dickens scored a career-high 18 points in the Tigers 64-62 loss at Bard in the Liberty League opener, Friday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Bard's Azriel Almodovar scored on a driving layup with 8:06 to play in the first half to give the Raptors a 28-11 lead.
  • Senior forward Kenny Wilburn scored off an assist from senior guard Keegan Ocorr with 3:20 remaining to cut the deficit to 32-23.
  • Bard scored the final five points of the half including a pair of free throws from Elliot Harris to give the Raptors a 37-23 halftime lead.
  • RIT began the second half with a 16-2 run, tying the score at 39-39 on a driving layup from Ocorr with 12:42 to play.
  • First-year guard Brody Brown hit a three-pointer to give the Tigers a 42-39 lead, and senior guard Brandon Weiss hit from deep to extend the RIT lead to 45-39.
  • Dickens hit a pull-up jumper with 10:37 remaining to give the Tigers a 47-39 lead.
  • Heston Tucker capped off a 13-2 Bard run with a dunk with 6:42 to play to give the Raptors a 52-49 lead.
  • Dickens hit a three-pointer with 5:49 remaining to tie the game at 52-52, and first-year guard Zac Ditzel drained a three on the Tigers' next possession to extend their lead to 55-52.
  • Bard went on a 7-0 spurt, taking a 61-56 lead on a Sean Wilcox layup with 47 seconds to play.
  • Dickens hit another three-pointer to cut the Bard lead to 61-59.
  • Junior guard Brock Bowen hit from downtown with eight seconds to play to make it 63-62, Bard.
  • Lazaros Panagiotounis hit a free throw with six seconds remaining to make it a 64-62 final.

  • RIT shot 24-of-50 from the floor, including nine three-pointers
  • The Tigers scored 26 points in the paint and 24 points off of 19 Bard turnovers
  • Weiss scored 10 points, while Ditzel and Wilburn each scored nine
