Men's Basketball loses 95-77 at Fisher in Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – RIT junior guard Brock Bowen scored a career-high 24 points in the Tigers 95-77 loss at St. John Fisher in the opening game of the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, Thursday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Bowen hit a three-pointer early in the first half to give RIT a 9-2 lead.
  • Junior guard Chase Dickens made a pair of free throws with 15:09 to play to extend the Tigers' lead to 17-7.
  • Akinlana Papoola capped off a 12-2 Fisher run with a pair of free throws to tie the game at 19-19.
  • Bowen hit another three-pointer off an assist from senior guard Matt Caggiano with 1:53 remaining in the opening half to tie the score at 36-36.
  • Daniel Cook scored for the Cardinals with 13 seconds to play in the half to give Fisher a 40-38 halftime lead.
  • Cole Thompson hit a three-pointer with 15:17 to play in the second half to give Fisher a 54-55 lead.
  • Bowen struck again from beyond the arc with 13:03 to play to cut the Fisher lead to 57-50, while Caggiano scored with 7:37 to play to make it an 11-point deficit.
  • Brad Fowler scored with 12 seconds to play to give Fisher its largest lead of the game of 20 points.
  • First-year Zac Ditzel hit a jumper with time expiring to make it a 95-77 final.
 
GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 26-of-66 from the floor, including 13-of-38 from beyond the arc.
  • Bowen shot 8-of-15 from the floor and had seven three pointers
  • Senior Brandon Weiss added 14 points, while senior Kenny Wilburn scored 12 points.
  • Fisher outrebounded RIT, 46-24
