ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The RIT women's hockey team hosts No. Minnesota for a pair of non-conference games at the Gene Polisseni Center, Friday and Saturday (Oct. 6-7).

Weekend Recap (RIT at Assumption)
RIT swept a pair of games at Assumption last weekend by scores of 3-2 and 5-1.

Senior forward Emma Roland scored twice in Saturday's victory. Sophomore forward Lexi Sung had two assists, while sophomore goalie Sophia Bellina made 20 saves to notch her first collegiate win.

Sung scored the game-winning goal at 7:42 of the second period in Friday's win. Junior forward Megan McCormick and senior forward Nicole Ness each scored, while sophomore Camryn Brownschidle and first years Emma Pickering and Linda Rulle picked up their first collegiate points. Junior goalie Sarah Coe made 18 saves in net to earn the win.

RIT enters the weekend tied for second in the CHA averaging  2.5 goals per game and allowing 1.25 goals per contest. The Tigers lead the league, killing off 12-of-12 penalties and third averaging 3.75 assists per game and 13.75 blocked shots.
 
Junior forward Jordyn Bear and sophomores Jaidan Fahrny and Lexi Sung are tied atop team in scoring each with a goal and two assists. Roland leads the team and is tied for second in the CHA with two goals, while Fahrny, Sung, junior Jessie Burks and Jordyn Bear are tied for third in the league with two assists, each, while Bear, Fahrny and Sung are tied for seventh in the league in scoring.
 
Senior captain Lindsay Maloney is fifth in the league with 36 faceoff wins and Pickering is tied for ninth in the CHA with six blocked shots.
 
Coe leads the CHA with a .956 save percentage. She is second in the league averaging 28.67 saves per game, and third with a 1.26 goals against average.

CHA Weekly Honors
Junior defensewoman Kyla Bear, Roland and Pickering were named to CHA Weekly Honor Roll. Bear scored the game-winning goal 2:27 into the third period in Saturday's 5-1 win at Assumption. Roland scored two goals in Saturday's win, while Pickering notched her first collegiate point in Friday's 3-2 in.

Redshirt junior Abbey Murphy recorded a hat trick in last Saturday's 6-0 exhibition win over Durham West Junior Lightening, Peyton Hemp tallied two goals, while senior Audrey Wethington scored.
 
A 2023-24 Preseason All-WCHA selection and 2022 Olympian, Murphy scored 29 goals last season and was the WCHA Final Faceoff Most Outstanding Player last March. Junior goalie Skylar Vetter was a Third Team All-WCHA selection last season and a WCHA All-Tournament Team selection.
