Wilkie lands fourth Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week award

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT sophomore forward Carter Wilkie was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week, Monday. Wilkie won the award for the fourth time this and season and for the second-straight week after leading the No. 18/19 Tigers in two games at Holy Cross last week.
 
Tied, 2-2, in the third period of Friday's opener, Wilkie scored shorthanded at the 10:15 mark and found the net again just over two minutes later to lift RIT to a 4-3 win over the Crusaders. He also scored a goal and won 15-of-20 faceoffs in Saturday's 4-3 overtime setback as the first-place Tigers picked up four of six points in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
 
Wilkie currently leads Atlantic Hockey and is tied for 12th in the country with 31 points and also leads the conference and is tied for 13th nationally with 1.19 points per game. His 13 goals are the second-highest total in the conference and his 18 assists are fourth, while his 304 total faceoff victories is the nation's 10th-best mark.
 
RIT (18-7-1, 14-3-1 AHA) plays an Atlantic Hockey home-and-home series versus Canisius this coming weekend, traveling to Buffalo on Friday (Feb. 3) for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff at the LECOM Harbor Center, before returning for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff on Saturday (Feb. 4) at the Gene Polisseni Center.
