Women’s Basketball falls to Union, 61-47

SCHENECTADY, NY – Junior guard Emma Waite scored 14 points as the RIT women's basketball team lost to Union College, 61-47.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Junior guard Emma Waite opened scoring with a layup to put the Tigers ahead, 2-0, with 9:12 left in the first quarter.
  • Union would take their first lead with 6:15 left in the first on a Kendall Degenhardt layup to go ahead 6-4.
  • Senior forward Meg Roy tied the game at 6-6 with a layup with 5:30 left in the first.
  • The Dutchwomen pulled ahead 11-6 before Waite hit two straight three-pointers to put the Tigers ahead 12-11 with 3:07 left in the first.
  • Union finished the first quarter on a 7-0 run for the 18-12 lead.
  • The Dutchwomen extended their lead in the second quarter to 32-22.
  • Union maintained the lead for the rest of the game for the 61-47 victory.
GAME NOTES
  • RIT shot 19-of-52 from the floor including 5-of-24 from beyond the arc.
  • The Tigers out-rebounded Union, 41-34.
