Men's Hockey releases 2022-23 schedule

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT men's hockey coach Wayne Wilson announced the schedule for the 2022-23 season, Friday.
 
The Tigers are slated to play 35 total dates, including 18 times at the Gene Polisseni Center as well as the annual Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend contest at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester.
 
"We have another great schedule for this coming season," said Wilson, who begins his 24th year behind the RIT bench. "From our strong non-league opponents, to another run at an Atlantic Hockey title, we are all looking forward to what the season will bring."
 
RIT kicks off the 61st season in program history on Saturday, Oct. 1, with a trip to Union, before hosting Atlantic Hockey rival Army the following weekend Army (Oct. 7-8) in the first home games of the season.
 
The Tigers will host Union (Oct. 15) the following Saturday in the Brick City game, before heading west five days later to take on host Air Force (Oct. 20-21) in the first of four-consecutive Atlantic Hockey doubleheaders. RIT will close the month hosting Holy Cross (Oct. 28-29) and, following two games at AIC (Nov. 4-5), will host Sacred Heart (Nov. 11-12).
 
RIT will host the USA Development Team for an exhibition (Nov. 19) before welcoming Princeton to town (Nov. 25-26) Thanksgiving weekend. December starts with a home-away conference doubleheader with Canisius (Dec. 2-3) and ends with a home-away series with Penn State (Dec. 30-31).
 
The Tigers start the New Year with back-to-back Atlantic Hockey series at Bentley (Jan. 6-7) and home versus Mercyhurst (Jan. 13-14) before heading back out west to play Arizona State (Jan. 20-21) to close the non-league portion of the winter.
 
RIT will travel to Holy Cross (Jan. 27-28) before a road-home series with Canisius (Feb. 3-4) followed by two games at Niagara (Feb. 10-11). The Tigers will wrap up the regular season with four-straight home games, hosting Bentley (Feb. 17-18) and Air Force (Feb. 24-25), before the start of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament the following weekend (TBD).
