Barnable named CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's At-Large

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT senior men's lacrosse midfielder Ryan Barnable was named to the 2021-22 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's At-Large team, Friday.

A 2021 USILA First Team All-American, Barnable is fourth on the team this spring with 54 points on 32 goals and 22 assists. Added to the Tewaarton Trophy Watch List earlier this season, he totaled six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in the Tigers' 18-7 victory at Ohio Wesleyan (Mar. 19) to became the 11th player in program history to record 200 career points, before notching his 100th career goal during the squad's 24-13 win over Vassar (Mar. 26).

Barnable also scored the double-overtime game-winning goal in RIT's 15-14 victory over Salisbury to clinch the program's first National Championship in 2021. The three-time First-Team All-Liberty League selection currently sits eighth on RIT's all-time scoring list with 232 points on 116 goals and 116 assists.

Barnable is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection and holds a 3.48 grade-point average in civil engineering.

The CoSIDA Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Barnable advances to the national ballot and will be eligible for Academic All-America honors, to be announced in June.

At-large division honorees are nominated from the following men's sports: rowing, fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

RIT (19-1) is set to host Bowdoin in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday (May 21) with a berth in Sunday's national semifinal on the line. The 10-time Liberty League Champion Tigers defeated MIT, 22-6, in last Sunday's NCAA third-round to advance to the 17th quarterfinal appearance in program history.
