ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT men's lacrosse team will play No. 1 Tufts in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship on Sunday (May 24) at 12 p.m. at Scott Stadium on the campus of the University of Virginia.

RIT is making its 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and 16th straight dating back to 2010. The Tigers are 52-24 all-time in NCAA Tournament games, including a 46-13 record since 2010. This is RIT's sixth appearance in the national championship game, winning back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.

RIT is 25th in Division III averaging 15.35 goals per game, converting 25-of-65 of its man-up chances (38.5%). The Tigers are sixth in Division III in assists (231), 16th averaging 10.04 assists per game and seventh in Division III with 518 points.
Junior
Erich Acton leads RIT with career-highs in points (92), goals (58) and assists (34). The 2026 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year and First Team USILA All-American, Acton is ninth in Division III with a .496 shooting percentage. Sanders is second on the team with 91 points and leads the Tigers with 66 goals. Harkins is third with 58 points on 32 goals and 26 assists. He is tied for 28th in program history with 156 career points and is tied for 22nd in program history with 106 career goals.
RIT allows 9.61 goals per game while causing 11.04 turnovers per game. The Tigers are ninth in Division III in clearing percentage (.898) and fifth in ground balls (898). RIT has killed off 76.4% (65-of-85) of its penalties.

Tufts, ranked No. 1 in the final USILA Division III poll, is making its 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, winning five national championships including back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025. The Jumbos advanced to the championship game with a 23-7 win over Wesleyan in Sunday's semifinal game. Senior

RIT vs. TUFTS
Tufts is 6-4 against RIT. RIT is 1-1 against the Jumbos in Quarterfinal games and 2-4 in NCAA Semifinals. The Tigers won back-to-back NCAA Semifinal matchups in 2021 and 2022. RIT lost 18-14 to Tufts in the 2024 NCAA Championship in Philadelphia. RIT's last win over the Jumbos was a 16-11 win at the 2024 Mustang Classic. RIT and Tufts have combined to win four of the last five NCAA Division III titles. RIT won the title in 2021 and 2022 and the Jumbos won back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025.
