Kirsten Auble won at singles and doubles, but Ithaca took the match, 6-3, Saturday.
Auble teamed with graduate student
Julia Smolowitz for an 8-6 third doubles win and then took her third singles match by 6-4, 6-1, to account for two of RIT's three team points.
Senior
Julianne Ho was the Tigers' other winner. She took sixth singles (2-1) after dropping the first set 6-2 and rallying with 7-6 and 10-6 scores.
In other doubles action, sophomore
Jackie Drozd and freshman
Gabby Donohue fell 9-7 in first doubles. Sophomore
Abby Murray and junior
Mackenzie Wade also lost a close match at 8-6 at second doubles.
In singles action, sophomore
Abby Murray fell 2-1 after dropping the first set, 6-0, taking the second, 6-2, and falling in the third, 6-0, at fourth singles. Smolowitz fell 6-3, 6-2, in fifth singles. Drozd (first singles) and Donohue (second singles) both fell by a pair of 6-0 sets.
Women's tennis next travels to Geneseo on Wednesday, March 23 with a 3 p.m. start.
