ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT (7-14, 5-10 Liberty League) men's basketball team was beaten 74-53 at home to RPI (20-4, 14-3 Liberty League), Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- First half finished tied 29-29.
- RIT shot 12-of-27 from the floor in the opening half, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.
- Senior Michael Young gave RIT a five-point lead on his bucket early in the first half.
- Sophomore Brandon Weiss drained a three-pointer late in the half that ties the score at 29-20
- Sophomore Kenny Wilburn scored eight points on 4-of-6 shooting to pace the Tigers
- RPI went on an 8-0 run early in the second half, taking a 41-32 lead on a three-pointer from Brian Kelly.
- Dom Black scored with three minutes to play to give RPI its largest lead of the game at 19 points.
- RIT was outscored 45-24 in the second half.
GAME NOTES
- RIT shot 22-of-57 from the floor, including 6-of-19 from beyond the arc.
- Wilburn scored led RIT with eight points.
- Junior guard Keegan Ocorr had eight rebounds and three assists.
- Dom Black scored 23 points to lead Rensselaer
