ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT (8-14, 6-10 Liberty League) Men's Basketball team came back from 13 points down in the second half to defeat Bard (8-17, 4-14 Liberty League), 95-92 in overtime on Senior Day. Senior
Curtis Nesbit tied the game at 79-79 with a pair of free throws with .03 seconds remaining in regulation. Sophomore
Kevin Ryan scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT trailed 39-34 at halftime, shooting 13-of-32 from the floor.
- Graduate student Chase Lewis led the Tigers with 10 first-half points, while Nesbit and freshman Kris Laing each tallied eight points.
- Bard's Azriel Almodovar converted 1-of-2 free throws with 7:09 to play to give the Raptors a 68-55 lead.
- Ryan, who scored 21 points in the second half and overtime, converted two free throws that cut the Bard lead to 76-73.
- Laing cut the Raptor's lead to 76-75 on a thunderous dunk off an assist from Lewis with 2:04 remaining.
- A Tyler Burns three-pointer with 1:47 to play gave the Raptors a 79-75 lead.
- Ryan scored on the Tigers next possession to make it a 2-point game.
- Nesbit was fouled while driving to the hoop with .03 seconds to play. He drained both free throws to send the game to overtime,
- RIT outscored Bard 16-13 in overtime to secure the win.
