Emma Waite scored 19 points and notched a team-high five rebounds as the Tigers beat Bard, 75-33, Friday.
First-year guard
Ansley Orrell scored a career-high 15 points, all coming on three-point shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT took an early lead on a three-pointer from Waite with 9:28 left in the first quarter.
- Bard pulled ahead for the first time, 4-3, after two successful free throws by Thalia Grandinetti.
- The Tigers regained the lead soon after, 6-4, on a three-pointer by first-year guard Abigail Smith.
- Bard tied the score again at six with 6:14 left in the first quarter, but the Tigers would go on a 20-6 run the rest of the quarter to pull ahead 26-12, powered by nine points from Orrell.
- RIT extended its lead in the second quarter and entered halftime ahead, 40-18.
- The Tigers continued to pull ahead in the third, ultimately entering the final quarter with a 61-23 lead.
- RIT ended the game primarily with bench players on the floor, but still outscored Bard 14-10 in the fourth to end the game with a 75-33 victory.
GAME NOTES
- RIT shot 42.9 percent from the floor on 30-of-70 shooting.
- The Tigers were 12-of-34 from beyond the arc.
- RIT out-rebounded Bard, 46-32.
- RIT held the lead for 38:38 of the 40-minute game.
- Graduate student forward Andreja Peciuraite had 13 points in the victory.
