ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first-year forward Simon Isabelle was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, Monday. 

Isabelle had the primary assist on the game-winning goal, blocked two shots and won 7-of-12 face-offs in Saturday's 4-3 comeback victory at AIC. He also took four shots and won eight faceoffs in Sunday's 3-2 victory as the Tigers completed the sweep of the Yellow Jackets. 

Isabelle also won the award two weeks ago after logging three assists during the Tigers' two-game sweep of visiting Holy Cross (Oct. 29-30). Classmate Tyler Mahan also won the award on Oct. 17 after scoring three goals in the 8-5 win over Union (15). 

RIT hosts Sacred Heart this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 11-12) in a showdown between the top-two teams in the current Atlantic Hockey standings.
