ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior Gianfranco Cassaro was named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, Monday.
 
Cassaro logged three assists in last week's Air Force series in Colorado. He was credited with two assists, including on what proved to be the game-winner, in Friday's 4-2 victory after notching an assist in Thursday's 3-2 setback.
 
Currently tied for first for the Tigers in scoring, Cassaro has totaled seven points during a five-game point scoring streak, including two goals and five assists.

Cassaro joins junior Aiden Hansen-Bukata, who was also named the league's top defenseman two weeks ago 
 
RIT hosts Atlantic Hockey-rival Holy Cross for two games this Friday (7:05 p.m.) and Saturday (4:05 p.m.) at the Gene Polisseni Center.
