ROCHESTER, N.Y. - RIT first-year forward Tyler Mahan was voted the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week, Monday. 

Mahan scored three goals in the Tigers' 8-5 victory over Union in Saturday's Brick City Homecoming and Family Weekend game, played at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester.

Mahan opened the scoring with 10:17 left in the first period before giving the Tigers a 4-0 lead early in the second. He tacked on an empty-net goal with 3:34 left in regulation.

Mahan's goals were the first of his career in an RIT sweater. He was also the first Tiger rookie to score a hat-trick since Andrew Rinaldi netted three goals in a 7-4 win over Holy Cross on Nov. 1, 2019.

RIT heads to Air Force for a pair of Atlantic Hockey games this Thursday and Friday (Oct. 20-21) set to face off a 9:05 p.m. EST both nights.
