Kevin Ryan was one of four Tigers to score in double-figures, finishing with 16 points to lead RIT (6-7, 4-3 Liberty League) to a 77-70 win at Clarkson (4-11, 1-7 Liberty League). Freshman
Brock Bowen scored 13 points, while
Curtis Nesbit and
Chase Lewis each scored 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nesbit drained a three-pointer off an assist from junior Keegan Ocorr to give RIT its first lead early in the first half.
- The Tigers ran off nine straight points, taking a 14-7 lead on a Nesbit layup with 14:59 to play in the half.
- Ryan Miles-Ferguson hit a three-pointer for Clarkson that cut the RIT lead to 16-15.
- Bowen gave the Tigers a 37-29 lead on his three-pointer off an assist from Ocorr.
- Matteo Sinon scored for Clarkson late in the half to cut RIT's halftime lead to 37-33.
- Ocorr drained a three-pointer early in the second half to increase the RIT lead to 43-36, while Bowen capped off the 6-0 RIT spurt with a three-pointer to give the Tigers a 10-point lead.
- Miles-Ferguson hit a three-pointer for Clarkson to cut the RIT lead to 48-43.
- Bowen scored with 11:03 to play that ballooned the RIT lead to 58-46.
- Frankie Rainville hit a three-pointer with 6:45 to play that cut the RIT lead to 65-60.
- Miles-Ferguson scored with :34 seconds to play to cut RIT's lead to 73-70.
- Lewis and Ryan made key free throws in the closing seconds to make it a 77-70 final.
GAME NOTES
