ROCHESTER, N.Y.  – Sophomore guard Matt Caggiano led RIT (6-8, 4-4 Liberty League) with 18 points in the Tigers 102-82 loss to Hobart (5-9, 2-4 Liberty League) Tuesday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sophomore Matt Caggiano scored with 1.9 seconds to play in the opening half to give RIT a 38-36 halftime lead.
• The Tigers shot 14-of-25 from the floor in the first half, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
• Ryan led the Tigers with 10 points on 3-of-4 shooting, and Curtis Nesbit tallied eight points and had three assists.
• Ryan scored early in the second half to give RIT a 46-39 lead.
• Hobart's Aidan Rodgers drained a three-pointer with 13:51 to play that gave the Statesmen a 56-55 lead.
• Later in the half, Caggiano converted an old-fashioned three-point play to give the Tigers a 61-59 lead.
• Hobart capped off a 6-1 spurt on a Jackson Meshanic bucket, and Pat Healy extended the Hobart lead to 73-63 on his bucket with 10:36 to play.
• The Statesmen outscore RIT 32-19 over the final 10:40 of the game, and 66-44 in the second half.

 
GAME NOTES

• RIT shot 31-of-57 from the floor, including 11-of-24 from beyond the arc.
• Caggiano scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half.
• Sophomore Kevin Ryan tallied 16 points, while senior Curtis Nesbit finished with 10 points.
• Healy led Hobart with 25 points.
